Covid Tests are Weird!

Hey Talveons,

Well, today was interesting, to say the least. I've had a bad cold/flu for a few days and thought I was suffering from strep throat so I made the trip to Urgent Care.

Entering Urgent Care for the first time since the covid started I wasn't sure what to expect. Just like Walmart one entrance was blocked and the main entrance was used to take my temperature and ask me questions about why I was there. The ladies were very nice and I got a small sticker with my temperature placed on my sweater so that everyone could see what it was.

After enduring the awful as usual strep test which shoves a large Q tip to the back of your throat for a swab and it came back negative I was given the option for 'the' test.

Now given my symptoms and knowing the kids both leave the house regularly I figured why not. It wouldn't hurt and if it's positive we can take it from there.

I have a very sensitive gag reflex so I was extremely nervous about the test as I wasn't sure what it would feel like or if it would trigger it.

Honestly, it wasn't that bad.

The doc was quick and gentle. My eyes watered only a moment and once it was done my nostril on that side felt itchy but it wasn't painful.

Overall it was a great experience. It will take a few days for the results but my family and I have a saying that we roll with it. Any issue that comes our way is taken head-on and with a roll with it attitude.

Of course, our teenage daughter is upset that I need to quarantine until we find out the results, which means that they need to stay in the house as well and need to avoid friends at least until we know for sure.

Our children have been so great during the entire crazy 2020 so honestly, I'm okay with being the focus of any anger for the time being. It has been hard for them in many ways and even still they have managed to keep their grades up and roll with everything thrown their way. Honestly, once this is over I'm throwing a party for my kids and their friends as a way to say thank you to them for handling everything so well.

Anyway, once I know the result of my test I'll let you know. Thank you so much for all the love and support.

Always Keep Fighting.

You Are Enough.
