Talveons,
I have updated my social media accounts a few times every week for many months now. Honestly, I can see that this week was by far the hardest to do. For those not familiar with the world situation everyone is having a rough time right now. From being laid off work, to pushed to part-time and others who have to work with the threat of a virus from anyone they come into contact with.
All we need now is zombies and the world can truly become the movie it is shaping up to be.
As most of you know I am originally from England. For the first 16 years of living in the USA, I was only able to see my family a total of 4 times. I was lucky that I was able to take my husband, and both children with me the last time. It was amazing. My son had just turned 10 years old and he finally met my sister in person.
It was truly magical. (and many tears were shed)
This year we planned out everything months in advance and could not wait for both my children to meet some more family members.
Sadly this was the week we were supposed to arrive. Due to the virus, we are unable to go to the grocery store without worry so traveling over 5,000 miles on a plane is a big no go. Our trip officially was canceled and my family and I are separated once more.
Now, this is where I give as much praise as I can to the technology we have today. When I first moved here we had email and yahoo messenger but that was all. Facetiming, Facebook messenger, WhatsApp, and HouseParty were all things that have evolved over almost 18 years since.
Even though I am emotionally fragile I have loved talking with my family and catching up, even though I can't physically be with them. We have laughed, joked, kept each other up to date with the craziness across the pond and in some cases, even played games.
This really long post is really just so I can say.
Be Safe and Stay Home if you can.
You Are Never Alone.
You Are Enough.
Always Keep Fighting.
A R Pliley
